Professional Experience
Michael is a founding partner of Ryan Planning following an exemplary local government career spanning 25 years, which included having managed two of Sydney's largest and most diverse planning departments.
His extensive knowledge and experience in the local government arena combined with his consultancy expertise has equipped him with the skills to negotiate and facilitate many successful development outcomes. These specialised skills have enabled Michael to gain a sound understanding of what is needed when balancing planning standards with community and political expectations.
Michael's strategic planning expertise has included managing NSW's first innovative 'place based' local environmental plan together with various major urban renewal projects and the preparation of various urban design guidelines. One of his many career highlights was been appointed project director for the Dee Why Town Centre Master Plan in association with the NSW Government Architect.

Lynne is also a partner in Ryan Planning with over 20 years experience in local government planning and private consultancy, including Rice Daubney Architects.
Her expertise is primarily in statutory planning and development assessment and the preparation of rezoning submissions and urban design guideline documents. Other areas of expertise include providing town planning and development advice, negotiating approvals and variations to conditions of consent.
She has a very good understanding of policies and procedures and has extensive knowledge of the development approval process having been involved with a diverse range of land uses across the Sydney metropolitan area.
Lynne has been involved in all facets of local government town planning and the assessment of major development proposals for government agencies, property development companies and a multitude of property investors. Her experience includes residential developments and preparing master plans and development control plans for and on behalf of local government.
